When deadly force is not authorized, a de-escalation of a potentially violent situation is required. Often times instigators or suspects must be detained or taken in to custody. Simple effective techniques get the suspect under control quickly helping to de-escalate. CQR uses a bent-arm restraint technique that can be applied in a variety of situations and from various angles. Other less-lethal weapons and techniques can be added per student requirements.
