Beginning with the ABC’s of trauma medicine, students will gain detailed knowledge of trauma identification, wound treatment for the extremities, head, eyes and torso. Students will also learn treatment for internal trauma and stabilization, including triage and moving conscious or unconscious victims under fire. Some of the skills taught include splinting, burn management, blast injuries, airway management and bleeding control.

This workshop allows the student the opportunity to learn trauma medicine skills. Application of these skills will be practiced by conducting rescues in wilderness environment and high risk environments..

Course begins 0800 Saturday, concludes 1200 Sunday.
