Arizona Hunting Basics Course  

Throughout history, hunting has been a time when a father could pass on life lessons to his son, as well as teach a skill that ensured prosperity of the family! Today families get together through hunting as a method of togetherness and reconnection and the result is still the same, family prosperity. Warriorschool is pleased to announce this special event course, with Arizona hunting expert Ralph Anderson, as a way to promote traditional family values. Men, women, boys and girls are all welcome!

Topics to Be Covered:

  • Weapon of Choice
  • Ammo Loads, Sighting-In, and Distance Shooting
  • Type of Necessary Gear and Clothing
  • Hunting Strategies
  • Spot & Stalk versus Stand or Blind
  • Typical Deer Patterns   
  • What to do Once the Animal is Hit
  • Field Dressing
  • Care of Meat and Hide for Eating and Mounting

Equipment: A packing list will be provided with registration.   

Location: A map will be provided with registration.

Schedule: Friday 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am – 6:00 pm.

About the Instructor: Ralph Anderson was raised in the hills of WV chasing eastern whitetail and turkey with rifle, shotgun and archery. After serving in the US Army, he began pursuing big game almost exclusively with archery tackle. He has taken several Pope and Young class animals, one of which is a bull scoring 370 2/8. He has bagged Coues Whitetail, Mule Deer, Antelope, Javelina, Mountain Lion, Wild Turkey, Bobcat, Fox, Coyote and Quail all with archery tackle. He has hunted in 19 states, bagging turkeys in 17 of those states with archery, including the current "World Record" Oscellated turkey from Mexico. He has the current state record turkey in CT. He bagged his 1st "Grand Slam" turkey in 1996, his 1st "World Slam" in 1999, and has since completed 3 World Slams and 6 Grand Slams. He taught hunter education for AZGF for 13 years. He has also served as the Tucson Chapter President for the NWTF for 6 years. He is a Life Member of the NWTF, NRA, RMEF and NAHC. He is also a member of the IBO AND SCI, where he is currently a Master Measurer. He is a Pro-Staff member for Quaker Boy Game Calls and has competed in several turkey calling contests.  He now guides exclusively in Mexico for Coues whitetail, Gould's and Oscellated Turkey and Buffalo. He gives several informational seminars each year throughout AZ and New Mexico with his main topics of focus being Turkey and Elk hunting as well as predator calling.
