The shotgun is the most powerful weapon in the common police inventory for good reason: It has outstanding stopping distance in a close fight. For this reason many private citizens prefer this weapon for home defense. As with any weapon, you need realistic training to use it effectively under the stress of an attack.

This course begins with safety, operation, shooting stances, grip, slinging, immediate action, reloading, and zeroing of the shotgun. Students will refine close target skills and develop proficiency out to 50 yards while incorporating movement, varied engagements, and multiple targets. A shotgun qualification is included.

Prerequisites: Warriorschool Basic or Intermediate Pistol.

Equipment Needed:
12 gauge shotgun with a sling
Pistol and holster, with extra magazines and magazine pouch
50 rds slugs, 20 rds 00 buckshot, 100 rds of birdshot (#6, #8 or #9)
100 rds pistol ammo
Eye and ear protection, plus a hat
