Desert environments present an almost constant opportunity for extended range combat engagements. Increasingly, combat troops, law enforcement officers and even hunters are finding themselves in situations that strain their shooting capabilities. Warriorschool's Desert Rifle Course Day 1 is designed to extend the maximum effective range of both shooter and weapon in a desert environment. Students will be given classroom and live fire training on the fundamentals of long range shooting and desert awareness.
You will learn the following:
- Classroom instruction relative to: Care and operation of the precision rifle, use of associated equipment, data books, application of precision fire, and safety.
- Principles of precision marksmanship to include: Basic minute of angle, wind, shooting platforms, breathing, and trigger control.
- Practical application in the following areas: Cold bore myths, grouping exercises, establishment of dope over known distances, positional shooting, and unknown distance shooting.
- Weapon Zeros from 100 to 400 meters.

Equipment: Accurized rifle, bipod, sock, sling with tactical high quality optics. Ammo (200 rds) should be match grade or tactical ammo designed for precision shooting.
About the Instructors: SSG Michael Kase was a sniper in the 3rd Ranger battalion. Additionally he was a sniper, observer, sniper team leader, and sniper instructor. He has been deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq. He attended the US Army sniper school, Marine high angle sniper course, SOTIC (Special Operations Target Interdiction Course), US Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU), and the Long Range Sniper Course
